Kainat Azhar is a Pakistani-American Muslim author who cherishes stories. She’s been writing ever since she was able to hold a pencil, starting with half-formed stories scribbled on the backs of homework assignments before progressing to (somewhat) organized notes and coherent storylines on Google Docs. Ever since she was a little girl, her biggest dream was to become a published author.

Her debut novel Journey to Hidaya was a passion project—fueled by the desire to highlight the Pakistani-American Muslim experience as just as raw and relevant as others in contemporary fiction.

Her upcoming novel Pendulum explores grief and identity in a Pakistani-American Muslim household, and is for anyone who’s ever been in the dark.

When not writing, she loves watching shows in various languages, attempting cool recipes, and spending time with her family.
